The overall situation for artwork, music- and song performances are still a kind of “slow – fox” with the recession in mind even though experts claims that we are out and on the right track towards better times.

I do think the experts are right and for all those still hanging on in the professional fields of culture it might be the time now for any kind of preparations towards active and professional creative motivations for another attempt to try out the market and any new areas which can be used for promotion, sales and eventual new target groups.

It will surely be somewhat difficult to rely on too much contribution from the public authorities be it municipalities or governments insofar they are more than busy covering depths and extras to be paid for unemployment and social aspects in general. Private sponsors and events in bigger companies might be a chance during the time to come bearing in mind that many in the private sector are looking for the creative and so called “soft” replacement to any increase in salaries. Times with recessions or depressions needs other ways of thinking and to my knowledge and the present situation in business life it is obvious to me, that many leaders are looking for a new strategy in the terms of care and good working conditions for the employees interrupted by joyful moments of events and a good atmosphere in the entire company.

At the present stage we are preparing some event arrangements during the year 2010 and will be on tour talking to other arrangers, musicians, singers and artists. A tour which has been possible thanks to private sponsors and assistance from local interested persons.

 The schedule will be:

• Berlin – 14. – 16. March 2010

• München – 16. – 18. March 2010

• Vienna – 19. – 22. March 2010

• Köln – 22. – 25. March 2010

Details will be announced later on but a small reception will be held in each city for those who might be interested in a social talk and presentation of upcoming events in the respective cities.

It is, however still free of charges to join our nature and here a little “aperitif” during the Danish landscape:

Keep the spirit on high levels and suddenly we might meet live somewhere in the world of cultures.

Celebrating 25 years of the European Capital of Culture, 23 – 24 March, Brussels

2010 marks the 25 year anniversary of the European Capitals of Culture, which were launched in 1985. On 23-24 March 2010 the European Commission will be hosting a celebratory event and strategic conference to mark the event, to look back at the achievements of the past 25 years, and to reflect strategically on its legacy and impact.

The conference will be opened by President Barroso and Jack Lang, who was the founder of the idea along with the late Melina Mercouri, former Minister of Culture for Greece.

The event will begin in the early afternoon on 23 March. In the morning there will be an information day for future bidding cities. There will also be the opportunity to exchange practices with certain past, current and future cities.

A strategic conference will take place on 24 March, which will be open to past, present, future, and potential bidding Capitals, as well as other interested stakeholders.

Interesting stuff and surely a possibility to those cities interested in PR and progress for the cultural fields with the blue stamp and contribution from the European Commission.
