During the past many months I have been traveling around in many of the European countries on behalf of our organization “Artists in Action – Culture unites Cultures for Humanity” and some private tours within the fields of entertainment.
From Denmark, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy to Gran Canary Islands and Portugal it was obvious to me, that the differences in cultural models have been changed to something like nepotism and a shift to more radical positions, where precisely the cultural picture is somewhat faded in the northern part of Europe, but a strong momentum in the southern areas.
Ambitions, jealousy and even hate to others are unfortunately observed more than previously being individuals and groups in their efforts either to attack or discriminate those who are standing in their way for own beneficial progress – unfortunately not visible in public, but hidden behind the curtains like in a war, where the “talks” may end up in plans and actions, that eliminates any kind of competition.
The time will under normal circumstances show the outcome, but nepotism will usually fail to be the positive element of a co-operation and work for a united culture and cultures in all aspects of life. I`m unfortunately not the only one who observed those negative vibrations but even EU has expressed their concern about this trend.
On the positive list of cultural engagements it has been possible to arrange so called “meeting points” for artists and cultural interested persons in France, Gran Canary, Denmark, Portugal and Switzerland now proceeding to USA and the Latin American countries hopefully to be finalized during 2011.
The latest “meeting point” – A resort and hotel center “Quienta do Pinheiro” was established in Nazaré, Portugal and we have just returned after successful meetings and inspiring artists and persons in this area, who understand the concept to work for a cause until it can be celebrated like a statement of fact in all it`s colors and inspiring moments.
Each “meeting point” will have an exhibition event lasting 3 weeks twice each year including eventual special solo events, receptions or official concerts and all to the benefit of the work for humanity and aid programs arranged via our corporative NGO partners and sponsors.
The first exhibition event will take place in “Quienta do Pinheiro”, Nazaré in April 2011 whilst numerous smaller receptions and events will be held in European countries before each exhibition event together with officials representing the cities in focus.
The internet possibilities in information and schedules will of course be used, but any kind of detailed descriptions, pictures and announcements will be implemented in our new portal – a prolonged edition of our present web blog:
Any person who would like to make use of our meeting points must register and pay a symbolic fee for the membership each year. Registered members will be notified automatically about all relevant information materials on our topics within the organization “Artists in Action – Culture unites Cultures for Humanity”.
It is my sincere hope, that we will see a bigger flow of positive exchanges between the different cultures, and the aim is so far to attract artists and visitors to our exhibition events and concerts in a 50/50 split of local and foreign participants and visitors.
Welcome to the upcoming and hopefully exited many months ahead and you are of course more than welcome to forward your comments, questions or ideas to the topics in general or specific issues that may have your interest or attention.
All the best from
Kurt Lykke Lindved
