The World Culture is suffering from the financial crisis and lack of interest.

By Kurt Lykke Lindved                                                                                        Ambassador Culture UN

Culture will always survive regardless of the resources available in the world – we have many cultural guardians everywhere on earth – some perhaps self-appointed guardians and the others as the fox guarding the chickens.

The financial situation may have been a mental limit on the artists’ self-expression and creativity in real life, which again is a sign of major setbacks and perhaps a beginning to patriotism worst elements where the greed comes before the love for our fellowmen.

Unemployed and poor people spend their energies on simple survival maneuver while the rich and wealthy are using energy to break free from the poor just as we see it in Europe today. It is comparable to the situation before the second world war, but I refuse to believe that man can be so stupid, that they once again will put everything at risk because of economical considerations.

Culture as a bridge-builder fills unfortunately only a fraction of the opportunities that exist today, and the bridge construction is often delayed because of the dominant areas such as economics, politics and religion. It is difficult to predict the future in all aspects of life, but I’m sure that next generation will use energy and resources to be action talented in the world distribution of the earth’s valuable possibilities in a whole, different and better way than we have seen so far, when the world was divided into A, B and C people by the people who have “locked” any direct confrontation with the reality of life.

Thank you for your insightful article Kurt, you have mined a deep vein of experience in this field with your work for AACCH, and have experienced at first hand how self interest from sponsors and artists alike can destabilize the best laid plans..undermining the financial stability needed to see the longer term projects especially, through to a meaningful conclusion.
The world does indeed more statesmen and fewer politicians, only then will self interest be replaced by clear vision for the common wealth of Humanity.
The cosmologies of ethnic groups throughout the world work from the sacred understanding of the wholeness of nature, the notion of Cosmic Order..each part inseparably influencing the other.
We each have a vital role to play in knowing of, and living respectfully within this sacred order, for we then replenish ourselves and each other, through the rhythm of nature, which acts so subtly to maintain the sub strata of our existence at our temporal level.
We each live with a undeniable fact that economic growth has been achieved through arrogant depletion of our environment, making all of life the poorer.
If we wish for there to be a future for our children, then non renewable resources should only be depleted at a rate commensurate with the creation of renewable resources. All life is balance, and we are producing a world where we are all creating a serious imbalance.
When we cultivate a respect for nature and each other, working from a place of compassionate interdependent intention, we then create a more loving world for All of us.
Through the river of life we flow from the one Source, and eventually return to the One Source, may we choose the joy of lovingly working together on our sacred journey’s Home.
    Grace and Gratitude
